Diocesan News

On-line Donations to Parish: The on-line donations facility on the Diocesan Website is now operational which enables parishioners to make on-line contributions to their own individual parish. Log on to and using the Donate button, select your own parish to make your contribution. Donations to parish funds, priests collections or other special collections can be accommodated. This is an additional facility which will work in tandem with parish websites where separate on-line donation facilities are currently operating. We hope that you will find this service useful for your ongoing support which is greatly appreciated.

Trócaire Boxes: can be returned to Weekend masses. As you know, donations made through the annual Trócaire Lenten Campaign, especially the Trócaire box, fund lifesaving programmes around the world. It is your kindness and support, which ensures that our work continues overseas. May God bless your generosity.

Lough Derg: is offering opportunities to have an experience of retreat and pilgrimage from wherever you are. Online Retreat Days continue on 13 and 18 June.  From 27th – 29th  June people can do the Three Day Pilgrimage from afar, along with the Prior and team. To register for this historic event and for full details of what is happening during June go to, Tel. 0 (0353) 71 9861518 Email

Trócaire: Every year Trócaire asks for your help during Lent to fund lifesaving programmes around the world. This year, of course, it was not possible to return Trócaire boxes through schools or parishes in the usual way. This is the worst possible timing coming just as the world’s poorest people need us most. Therefore, Trócaire are appealing to you to return your Lenten donation. Simply count or estimate what is in your box and donate in the following ways:

1.  Online at<>

2. By phone: 1850 408 408 3. By post to Trócaire, Maynooth, Co. Kildare.

Please do not leave Trócaire boxes in churches as we are unable to guarantee safety. As an alternative to the above you can hold on to your contribution until Masses begin in July and we will accept them at that point.

Accord: To help support marriage and relationships in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, Accord CLG and Accord Northern Ireland have established a new relationship support phone line which will be staffed by experienced couples and relationships counsellors. This will be a free service but calls are charged at a local rate. The support line is open from 9.00am – 8.00pm Monday to Friday. Call 01 531 3331.

Lourdes Pilgrimage: It is with profound regret we announce that the Killaloe Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes on 26th June 2020 has been rescheduled to 29th June 2021. The decision was taken by the Diocese in consultation with Joe Walsh Tours in the light of the Covid-19 Pandemic which prevents us guaranteeing the health and safety of all who travel with us. The agreement is with JWT to carry forward to next year all current bookings so that there will be no financial loss to those who are booked. Please do not at this time contact JWT as staff are working from home and do not have full    access to their office. A decision on the Autumn Pilgrimage will be taken in due course.

May our Lady of Lourdes and St. Bernadette keep us all safe from danger and protect us over the coming weeks and months.
