Lourdes Pilgrimage: It is with profound regret we announce that the Killaloe Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes on 26th June 2020 has been rescheduled to 29th June 2021. The decision was taken by the Diocese in consultation with Joe Walsh Tours in the light of the Covid-19 Pandemic which prevents us guaranteeing the health and safety of all who travel with us. The agreement is with JWT to carry forward to next year all current bookings so that there will be no financial loss to those who are booked. Please do not at this time contact JWT as staff are working from home and do not have full access to their office. A decision on the Autumn Pilgrimage will be taken in due course.
May our Lady of Lourdes and St. Bernadette keep us all safe from danger and protect us over the coming weeks and months.
Updated guidelines from Bishop Fintan & the Irish Bishops Conference:
Baptisms are to be postponed until further notice unless in the case of danger of death.
First Friday calls and calls to the sick and housebound are to cease except in the case of where someone is gravely ill.
Where someone is affected by Covid19, the local priest is not expected to attend; the person will be transferred to hospital and there are guidelines for hospital chaplains to follow for anointing those who are ill.
Some priests because of their age or health may feel unable to attend the sick in local circumstances; we ask your understanding at this time.
